Two Boring Hours

Well, that's two hours of my life I'm never getting back. I wish I had read this review of North Country before I saw it.

The two hours felt like three. That's never a good sign.

The movie was B-o-r-i-n-g--that's Boring with a capital B.

The only redeeming factor about going to the movie last night was that I wasn't at home, hearing the normal, natural, regular sounds of children. Some days, I just can't stand that for one more minute.

I like to see movies that I suspect will be nominated for Academy Awards. I think I made a mistake this time, however. Drat!

Hey Mel--

We took our offspring to see The Greatest Game Ever Played (really good and not a single eff-word, nor even a hell or a damn) but anyway, the snoozer you saw was one of the previews and I leaned over and said to the Guy in the Boxers (he had jeans on over them, of course) "No thanks, I've already seen Norma Rae and Silkwood, etcetera, etcetera, and besides, I am sick of the Charlize chick going out of her way to be all "Look at me, look how plain and homely I can make myself look with the help of five pounds of make-up," which is what the rest of us look on a really good day. With the help of five pounds of make-up.

Yes I have PMS. Sigh. Anyone have any chocolate? Anyone?

PS--My word verification was "gluerp" so I think it should be the special word of the day, don't you agree, Elizabeth?

I saw the previews...it looked b-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-r-i-n-g. Glad I got some confirmation. It probably isn't even worth wasting a free rental coupon, is it?

Have you seen The Constant Gardner? And if so, what did you think of it?

Thanks for the heads up. I had been planning on seeing it, since the book looked really interesting. We'll have to wait for it to come out on rental.

Ditto, ell! I saw the previews and thought the same thing about Charlize "aren't I a significant acctress" Theron!

I saw Elizabethtown with Boo over the weekend. It was good enough, but not what it's been billed as.

It felt much more art-housey and it's being billed as a mainstream sweet, romantic comedy (which it is, I guess).

I actually liked it, but I love most movies. I just love movies, period.
