You Smell Good

My daughter likes to tell this joke with a twinkle in her almost-three-year-old eyes: "You smell good . . . but you're not a cookie!" That's it. That's the whole joke. Then she laughs and laughs.

Isn't it wonderful when they learn to tell jokes! My BoyChild has been telling Knock Knock jokes, or one knock knock joke that he's reduced to "knockknockbanana" laugh until he's red in the face and then do it all again.

Kids crack themselves up...and us in the process. Gotta love 'em!

Oh, that reminds me of Butterfly's favorite joke when she was just a wee thing. She would say the nursery rhymn "Little Miss Muffet" and when she came to the line "and along came a spider", she would change it to "and along a turtle" and then would laugh and laugh and laugh. We would break up laughing at her laugh.

Thanks for bringing that pleasant memory to my mind tonight. I can hear her deep throated chuckle as if she were sitting right here beside me again and in reality she is in her thirty's now and is living on the other side of the province. Sigh, where has the time gone?

Me again, the line should read -
"and along came a turtle"

I just love children at her age. The cute little stories and jokes they tell. When the amuse themselves, it always cracks me up. Maybe you should find a new perfume... Do they make a Choc Chip or Sugar Cookie. LOL

Cute, cute, cute! All of them. I simply can not wait until I have a little one of my own running around and I can tell stories about her. We still have about 6 months to go until we get our adoption referral, which doesn't seem that long in the grand scheme of things. :-)
